Assistant Professor in Nuclear Physics

The Department of Physics at the University of New Hampshire (UNH) seeks an outstanding individual with interest and expertise in experimental nuclear physics, who shows promise of becoming a leader in the field, for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning in August 2017. The successful candidate is expected to lead an active research program in experimental medium energy nuclear physics.

The Physics Department at New Mexico State University anticipates hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in theoretical nuclear and particle physics. The position will be partially funded for the first three years through a grant by the US Department of Energy Office of Science within the framework of a topical collaboration led by Brookhaven National Lab, focused on the three-dimensional description of hadron structure. The successful candidate will have reduced teaching load during those three years and will conduct research connected to this field.

The Nuclear Theory Group at Ohio University anticipates hiring a post-doctoral research associate to take up a position starting in the Fall of 2017. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in physics (or anticipate having a Ph.D. in hand by September 2017). The research interests of the group cover a broad range of topics: nuclear and electromagnetic reactions in light systems, reactions involving nuclei near the neutron- and proton-driplines with particular emphasis on halo nuclei and direct reactions, and implications of the physics of dense matter for astrophysics.

Senior Theorist Hire in the BNL Nuclear Theory Group

Dear colleague,

The Nuclear Theory Group at Brookhaven National Laboratory seeks an outstanding theoretical physicist for a Senior Scientist position to perform research in the physics relevant for the science program of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) as well as that of a future Electron-Ion Collider.

UConn postdoc posting

The Hadronic Physics Group, in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at the University of Connecticut is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to develop a software framework for the computation of SIDIS structure functions on the basis of given "model input" or "trial parametrizations", and for the SIDIS event generators. Such a framework would be used in the future for 3-D PDF extractions and validations. We are looking either for an experimentalist with strong theory background, or for a theorist interested in close collaboration with experimentalists.
