Opening for a position as postdoctoral researcher at Chalmers University of Technology

Currently there is an opening for one position as postdoctoral researcher in the Subatomic Physics Group in the Department of Fundamental Physics at Chalmers University of Technology. The subatomic physics group at Chalmers University of Technology is actively involved in the NUSTAR collaboration at GSI/FAIR in Darmstadt, Germany with a focus on the design of the Super-FRS and the R3B experiment. The successful candidate will work on developing NUSTAR front-end electronics and data acquisition systems. Here, the focus of the work is onimproving the correlation of data streams from the current Fragment Separator with experimental data streams. A second topic would focus on the integration of new detection systems into the existing data acquisition systems of the GSI Fragment Separator. Both tasks are to be addressed in a way that solutions are applicable for future NUSTAR experiments with the Super-FRS. A PhD degree in nuclear physics or particle physics, experience in C, C++ programming, and experience in nuclear or particle physics electronics and data acquisition systems is required. The successful applicant should expect to spend time at the GSI accelerator facility.

The Post-doctoral position is an appointment that offers an opportunity to qualify for further research positions within academia or industry. The majority ofyour working time is devoted to your own research, normally as a member of a research group.
