White Paper on High Performance Computing

Compute Canada had a call in June 2014 for White Papers for Sustainable Planning for Advanced Research Computing (SPARC). Due to the many common requirements, it was felt that a much stronger case could be made if a common document on the "Computing requirements for the Canadian subatomic physics community" could be prepared on behalf of both the Institute of Particle Physics and the Canadian Institute of Nuclear Physics.

2016 Conference Support

Direct Reactions with Exotic Beams (DREB 2016)

2015 Conference Support

6th International Symposium on Symmetries in Subatomic Physics (SSP2015)

7th International Conference on Hard and Electromagnetic Probes of High-Energy Nuclear Collisions

CUPC Student Travel Awards

The CINP is making available four student travel awards to the Canadian Undergraduate Physics Conference (CUPC), being organized this year by Trent University in Peterborough, ON on October 22-25, 2015. Each award will be for up to $500.00 towards student travel expenses.

Faculty or associate level CINP members who are supervising an undergraduate enrolled at a Canadian university on a nuclear physics research topic are asked to apply for the travel award on behalf of their student. The application package should consist of:

WNPPC Graduate Student Travel Awards

The Canadian Institute of Nuclear Physics (CINP) is making available four graduate student travel awards to the Winter Nuclear and Particle Physics Conference (WNPPC), to be held in Banff, Alberta on Feburary 16-19, 2017. The conference website is at:

Each award will be for up to $500 towards student travel expenses. Students must be enrolled in graduate studies at a Canadian university and performing research in experimental or theoretical nuclear physics. The application package should consist of:

CINP Undergraduate Research Scholarships (URS)

The CINP is pleased to announce that it will fund up to 5 research scholarships to enable gifted undergraduates to work with a supervisor on nuclear physics research this summer.

Subatomic Physics Major Resources Support Facilities

Various resources that support Canadian subatomic physics experimental efforts are available to the community through the NSERC Subatomic Physics Major Resources Support (MRS) Program. Applications for use of the facilities should be directed to those operating the facilities as described below.
